The Heartland View Edge has asked me to give you my predictions this year for the Oscars. These, in my humble opinion, are my predictions.

Best Picture: To be honest, I've only seen two of the movies nominated for best picture. The movie I want to win is Black Swan.  I've always been a fan of psychological thrillers and dance.  So this movie seems like the perfect combination of the two.  Not to mention the interesting relationship that forms between Natalie and Mila.

Predicted winner: "Black Swan"

Best Director: The best director?  Well, this will be a complete shot in the dark.  I'm not very well versed in directors, and it certainly doesn't help that I've only seen one of the movies that goes along with these nominations.- and that was "The Social Network."  I'll have to admit, that I thought the movie was well done, but dragged out to say the least.  So with that said, any other prediction would be a shot in the dark.

Predicted winner: not David Fincher for "The Social Network"

Best Actor: Again, these predictions would be much easier if I had seen the movies being nominated. However, Jesse Eisenberg has been on my top list of actors since his role in "Zombieland."  So, with that in mind, I am prediction Jesse Eisenberg as Mark Z., in "The Social Network."

Predicted winner: Jesse Eisenberg in "The Social Network"

Best Actress: Hands down. Natalie Portman has the lockdown on this.  Enough said.

Predicted winner: Natalie Portman as Nina Sayers in "Black Swan"

Best Supporting Actor: Although I am a huge fan of Christian Bale, my vote goes for Jeremy Renner as James Coughlin in "The Town."  This movie kept me on my toes, and Jeremy certainly helped to do so.

Predicted winner: Jeremy Renner as James Coughlin in "The Town"
