Q: Where is the BSU headed for Spring Break?
A: We are headed to Stillwater Oklahoma to do service projects
Q: Have you participated in BSU trips before? If so, what keeps you coming back for more?
A: I've gone on Spring Break with the BSU since my freshman year at Northwest. There is something so awesome about being able to serve others with your friends. I really feel like I am making the most of my break when I go on these trips. Plus it's a great opportunity to bond with the other members of the BSU that I hadn't really gotten to know.
Q: What is your favorite memory of a BSU trip?
A: Ah I have so many good memories from those trips. Um one would probably be my freshman year (we were in Arlington TX then) and the mixed CD we listened to pretty much the entire way down there (which was not a bad thing haha it was a good CD) but still to this day whenever I hear a song that was on that CD i think of that trip and how in the mornings when we would go to our site just listening to those songs and dancing, ha it was a lot of fun.
Q: What are some goals the BSU would like to accomplish with their trip this Spring Break?
A: Our main goal for all of these trips is really just to show the love of Christ in serving other people. We feel like a lot of the time Christians get pegged as being hypocritical and not practicing the love that we preach. And we don't want to be like those people. So really we just want people to see why we are spending our breaks like this, it's because we want to be like Christ, and that means being a servant to others.
Q: How does the organization raise money to do these outreach programs?
A: Well the cost of this trip is $75, so we are paying (mostly for gas) to be able to take these trips. To my understanding though the trip is in our BSU budget (where that money comes from I'm not completely sure) We don't really do fundraisers for it just because a lot of support has already been provided to us financially in the form of other Christian organizations. (I am not completely sure but I feel like I've heard a few of the local churches in the area support us in that way).
Q: Will other campus groups (from Northwest or other schools) be going with you?
A: Anyone is welcome to come on these spring break trips. So if someone from, say, the Navigators or Cru wanted to come they'd just need to sign up. We don't normally partner up with other organizations but like I said anyone is welcome!
